Aqueous Delivers Sold-Out, Gorillaz-Themed NYE Show On A Big Night In Buffalo [Photos/Videos]

first_imgLoad remaining images After an incredibly successful 2017 for Buffalo-based groove-rock quartet Aqueous, the band returned home to ring in 2018 with a sold out New Year’s Eve bash at Town Ballroom. Sunday night was primed for a party in Buffalo as the city’s beloved Buffalo Bills ended their 17-year playoff draught earlier in the evening. Donning a mix of Bills gear and their NYE best, fans packed into Town Ballroom to celebrate the band’s first headlining show at the historic venue.Aqueous came out of the gates swinging with a four-song first set featuring fan-favorites “Origami” and “The Median”. After setting the tone for the night, the band returned to the stage for their main event: A “Gorillaz-themed” second set that weaved original Aqueous gems with Gorillaz classics.The band welcomed local rapper Dr. Ooo for support on “Clint Eastwood” and, in true Aqueous fashion, a few improvised raps of his own. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the balloon drop countdown, which featured a raging rock version of “Auld Lange Syne” back into “Warren In The Window”.
